Kern characters
Click the World Atlas type layer on the
Layers palette (if it is not already selected).
Click the Horizontal Type Tool T, on the
toolbox.
Click the Toggle the Character and Paragraph palettes button Q on the options bar to open the Character palette.
TIP You can close the Character palette by clicking the Close button in the upper-right corner of its title bar or by clicking the Toggle the Character and Paragraph palettes button.
Click between "o" and "r" in the word "World."
TIP You can drag the Character palette out of the way if it blocks your view.
Click the Set the kerning between two characters list arrow
Metrics on the
Character palette, then click -25.
The spacing between the two characters decreases.
Click between "A" and "t" in the word "Atlas."
Click the Set the kerning between two characters list arrow
Metrics then click -25, as shown in Figure 6. 8. Click the Commit any current edits button ^
on the options bar.
You modified the kerning between characters by using the Character palette.
